It has been a little while since I have shared a fashion post with you, and the reality is because I have been trying to avoid shopping splurges. I know, it is most unlike me.
On the occasions that I have indulged and treated myself, bargains have been front of the wish list – satisfying my buying crave whilst not causing too much damage to my already Dublin-bruised bank account.
George at Asda has proved itself to be particularly handy on that front. There is a large Asda about 25 minutes away from me in Bletchley but I don’t find myself heading over there unless I am looking to dovetail an Ikea trip. My recent supermarket style successes have certainly encouraged me to give it a go more often…
I have wanted a cape for a while now. Particularly when I spied my blog crush on The Londoner sporting one. Rosie’s winged beauty was a little out of my price range, but my own personal shopper (lovely friend and fellow Londoner enthusiast, Dani) spotted a bargainous one on George’s website and teasingly sent it over to me.
Suffice to say that within 10 minutes I had purchased it and within a matter of days it had arrived and was being teamed with every outfit I own.
It really comes into its own over jeans / trousers, but as you can see from the photos… I have been wearing it with absolutely EVERYTHING! Nearly every time I have worn it someone has commented how much they like it and how they would really like one too. It is now an absolute staple in my wardrobe.
My love of George didn’t stop there though. I was at a bit of a loss for something to wear at my best friend’s Mexican birthday extravaganza. My group of closest friends mainly happen to be the same size, so I raided Sara’s wardrobe and opted to wear a vibrant yellow animal print dress which, you guessed it, was from George.
I added some waist shaping with a thin black belt (I just can’t help myself, belts are a must for me) but other than that the dress did the talking all by itself. No accessories required.
And I flipping loved it. It was so nice to be wearing something bright instead of my usual shades of black. I am even considering a sneaky purchase to get this beauty in my very own wardrobe…
Make it part of your world
~~~ The cape is still available through George at Asda’s website, for just £15. As it is in the sale though, hurry and get one purchased so that you are not disappointed ~~~
~~~ The animal print shift dress is also available on the website and an absolute bargain at just £14 ~~~
